In the year 1974, the National Policy for Children, has recognized that programme for Children should find prominent place in national plans for the Development of Human Resources. On 11.12.1992, the Indian Government have acceded to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), underlining the intent for secure of every child and the inherent right to be a child, have also adopted the National Charter for Children 2003 on 09.02.2004.


The State Government is providing free and Compulsory Education to all Children of the age group from 6 to 14 years under the Right to Children for Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 and preventing the employment of children below the age of 14 years in the factories, mines or hazardous occupations under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 and also ensuring the protection of constitutional and legal rights of the Children with a commitment to provide the opportunity and facilities to the development of Children in a healthy atmosphere with required freedom.
